    MuYe-Culture

    Company Introduction
MuYe-Culture Co., Ltd. was founded by Hsu Yi-Hung in April 2015. It aspires to open a new architectural landscape and to promote Taiwanese traditional culture through publications of books, maps and other creative cultural products. So far, in addition to the “Illustrated Handbook” series on Taiwanese architectural sketches, we have created a new “Cultural Map” series in both Chinese and Japanese versions. The Illustrated Handbook: Taipei City in Qing Dynasty was nominated for the 36th Golden Tripod Awards. Unearthing the historical depth with visual perceptions, the hope is to introduce the profound in simple terms and to bring our readers a different perspective on daily surroundings.

    Founder’s Profile
    Hsu Yi-Hung
Born in 1977 in Taipei, Hsu is a researcher on architectural history, with a particular interest in Taiwanese and Chinese history of architecture. As the winner of “The Contribution Award on Local Cultural Promotion” in 2015 (selected by Shopping Design “2015 Taiwan Design Best 100”), Hsu has dedicated himself to popularizing the culture of historical buildings in Taiwan through the expertise in photography and architectural sketches in recent years. He became enamored of the investigation on ancient architectures since college, and this passion has been going on for almost two decades. Based on this academic background, he has been immersed in the world of hand-painted architectures. From 2010 to 2013, he punished his signature works, the “Illustrated Handbook” series on Lungshan Temple of Manka, Taipei City in Qing Dynasty, and Taipei City in the Japanese Colonial Period, introducing the features of Taiwanese architecture by vivid sketches. In 2015, Hsu started working on the project of “Cultural Map” series, which guides readers to shuttle between heritage sites with freehand maps. So far, three cultural maps—Manka, Dadaocheng, and Taipei City—have been made out of solid historical research, successfully reproducing the image of old streets in Taiwan during the Japanese colonial era. Without a doubt, the “Cultural Map” series has become the significant reference for “slow” tourism and local education.
